Despite the government’s harsh oppressive campaign against Hizb ut Tahrir in Pakistan, where even supporters of the party are arrested, Hizb ut Tahrir Wilayah Pakistan organised a protest in Islamabad on 22 July 2009 against the visit of Obama’s Special Envoy to Pakistan and Afghanistan, Richard Holbrooke. Holbrooke has stated that US will not interfere in Pakistan’s affairs so it will not comment on Musharraf’s trial, yet he met the Army and Intelligence chiefs, the President, the Prime Minister and the opposition to further America’s war on Muslims. So, much for American non-interference!
