On 13 April, President Asif Ali Zardari signed the Swat Nazam-e-Adl Regulation. However, it is not the first pact that the Pakistani government has made with Tahreek-e-Nifaz-e-Shariat-e-Muhammadi (TNSM). In the past, Pakistan’s rulers have made pacts with TNSM in 1994, 1999 and 2007 as well. And again, as in the past, the government of Pakistan is not sincere in her measures, but she has taken this step to secure American interests. Pakistan’s rulers are supporting America’s new policy, as announced by President Obama on 27 March, which represents a continuation of Bush’s policy of occupation of Afghanistan and demands upon Pakistan’s army to do more.

The media have reported that 12 warships of the British Navy are on their way to the Bay of Bengal and two of them will participate in a joint naval exercise with the Bangladesh Navy and coast guard. Obama concluded his tour of Turkey yesterday, Tuesday 7th April, 2009. This visit was full of sugar-coated statements, trying to prove that he is not at war with either Islam or Muslims and that Turkey is important for America and the world, as a bridge between the Islamic World and the West.
