Intellectuals of the World!
Reject the Capitalist System and get rid of its pitfalls and crises.
Here is a Fundamental Solution…
The political leaders, economists and the thinkers are well aware that the capitalist system is the real cause of the economic calamity facing the world. This system protects the interests of the capitalists themselves, its fills their coffers at the cost of the rest of humankind. It is this capitalist system that has divided the world into two categories: the 5% wealthy who monopolise 80% of the world’s wealth and resources and the 95% of people who are forced to compete for a share of the rest of 20%! In other words, it denies a fair share to the millions in order that the capitalists enjoy the luxuries.
Similarly, the political leaders as well as the economists are also aware that they do not have a solution to overcome this crisis- some of them have even declared the inability of the capitalist system to emerge from this mess and provide a solution. In fact, this has been expressed by some senior political leaders like Sarkozy and Gordon Brown amongst others, and despite the fact that they have taken certain steps to solve the crisis, they have accepted and acknowledged the failure of these efforts. Some of the steps that they have resorted to are: providing liquidity in the faltering stock markets, banks and companies. This is despite the fact that these governments have already pumped in huge amounts of tax payers’ money into these troubled companies. This actually amounts to robbing the poor to feed the rich. In their urge to salvage the affected rich, they are still treading this old and failed, beaten track, and all this at the cost of the poor man on the street
The steps taken by the capitalist countries to solve the economic crisis have failed miserably simply because these crises are an intrinsic and inevitable part of the very system. It is the very nature of this corrupt system that such crises will invariably and necessarily surface and will result in misery for those who allow this system to govern them. Consequently, the solution derived from this system will naturally be corrupt and ineffective solutions. This has been amply proven in the long periods during which the capitalist system has been applied…in fact they are now forced to import solutions from the long out-dated socialist ideology; nationalisation for instance. They are now forced to impose protectionist and isolationist measures that contradict the very capitalistic ideology which they seem to relish. Not only this, such measures are in gross violation of the General Trade and Tariffs (GATT) which was once hailed as the cornerstone of their capitalist ideology.
Now the politicians and economists have no option but to discard this ideology lock stock and barrel. In doing so, they will not have to run from pillar to post searching for a viable and workable alternative, Hizb ut-Tahrir has long since proposed to the humanity and continues to present and fundamentally distinct solution to solve mankind’s problems…indeed, it is Islam and its economic system revealed by Allah Himself to His Prophet (saw) which has governed and been implemented over long periods and over different nationalities. It was this system alone which achieved true prosperity for the mankind when it was in force. Indeed, it was a rarity to find a destitute to give him the mandatory zakat, alms.
Hizb ut-Tahrir organised an economic conference where the global economic crisis, rather catastrophe was discussed and its reality and manifestations were explained. The real causes were discussed in their right perspective and finally, a correct solution was presented….
And now Hizb ut-Tahrir invites you to peruse the various papers presented at the conference in a separate book form which offers a fundamental solution to this crisis confronting the world today…
