Q&A
The following is a compilation of questions that were asked from Naveed Butt, the Official Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Pakistan.
Question: What are the signs and glad tidings for such change from the reality point of view NOT from Aqeedah (Quran and Sunnah) point. Taking into account the Kufr big powers and their plans and armies in the area as well as the agents who rule the Muslims. Is not this reality makes it impossible to establish Khilafah? And if Hizb ut-Tahrir managed to establish Khilafah. Do you think that the Muslims in other countries would mobilize to help, support and join Khilafah. Again keeping in mind the Kufr armies and agents and most probably that they will attack Khilafah militarily and otherwise.
Answer: Respected brother, your concerns are important to be addressed. Everybody knows that the establishment of the Khilafah would be a huge blow to the imperialists and their plans therefore we understand that they have already working to put in place their contingency plan in order to react quickly. We see their concern in the statements coming from Bush, Blair, Cheney, Rumsfeld regarding the Khilafah. This is why we do not plan on establishing the Khilafah in a weak or small country. We believe the starting point should be in a country that should have certain prerequisites which includes the ability to sustain itself militarily based on Ghalaba-tuz-Zan (Most probably). One should also understand that for any country to exist it is not necessary that she should be stronger than all the countries, rather it should be sufficiently strong so that the supper power couldn’t immediately annihilate it. Pakistan with its missile capability and strong professional army is not a soft target. America knows that Pakistan is capable of retaliating and hurting US more than she is willing to sacrifice. US CENTCOM in Doha is within the reach of Pak missiles and Pak Air Force. Similarly US Army in Afghanistan is virtually surviving on supplies of petrol and food coming from Pakistan. One should also remember that it took US a full year of military build up before they could go into Iraq. Pakistani army is capable to sending more body bags to US than they could ever imagine. Also currently US army is stretched thin and they cannot recruit people to fight insurgencies let alone a full-fledged war with a nuclear state. In such a situation it is difficult for the US to initiate a war against a nuclear Khilafah immediately. Yes there is always be a threat for a war in the future when US could try to rally all other powers including its own public opinion which is against war. For such an eventuality the Khilafah will get enough time for expansion and stabilizing its internal situation and also making pacts with other non-Muslim states in order to isolate US. As per your other question i.e. whether the Muslim countries will join hands with the newly established Khilafah? My answer is, yes most certainly InshAllah. And they will do it very quickly. There are enough signs that the Ummah is fed up with their agent rulers and kufr systems and they are already waiting for a sincere leadership which would implement Islam over them and unify their resources. As you know that Hizb ut-Tahrir is working in all major Muslim countries and has enough roots that it could mobilize the Ummah against the agent rulers once the Khilafah is established. Also the Khilafah will also send troops to support these movements wherever is necessary. You will see that these agents such as Bashaars and Mubariks will take a one way ticket to US or UK provided if they succeed in escaping from the wrath of the Ummah who would be much keen in capturing them and putting them on trial for their butcheries.
Question: Talk to us about Pakistan since Bhutto’s death until today. How strong the US in Pakistan? Is it true that the US is making plans so that Muslims do not get the nuclear arms? How do you see the Muslim world today?
Answer: Pakistan has been in turmoil since Bhutto’s death. America has formed a broad-based coalition that includes all the major parties except Pakistan Muslim League (Q) that was the ruling party during the last five years. They are already supportive of war against terror and other US policies. Hence virtually it leaves no opposition for the US plans in Pakistan except the Hizb ut-Tahrir. Though the other Islamic parties will give only a token resistance but in actuality will distract the people towards the judges issue, rather than war on terror. One should keep in mind that these parties had already supported this war by posing no resistance when they were ruling the two provinces (NWFP and Balochistan). Hence one should not expect from them anything different. But the good part is that the Ummah is very much politically active and aware due to the media boom in the last few years. The Ummah will soon realize that the current democratic dispensation is also an eyewash and they will be rejected sooner than the previous setup. Hizb ut-Tahrir has already issued a very strong leaflet that is very widely distributed in the major cities of Pakistan exposing the current regime and its plans to serve US interests.
As per the nuclear issue, yes US is very keen in either destroying Pakistan’s nuclear capabilities or at least curtailing it so that it may not produce more nuclear weapons. Condoleezza Rice has openly declared that US has put in place a “contingency plan” for Pakistan’s nuclear assets. This is why that the people of power and the Ummah have to act now in order to stop US form further harming Ummah’s nuclear assets and capabilities.
Question: Can you please shed the light on the rule/plans the US plays within the internal and external politics of Pakistan in all fields (Military, Culture, economical, civil and tribal, etc….) so that it will have the control not only in Pakistan but also in India and Afghanistan.
Answer: Brother I would like to answer your question with brevity as the topic itself is huge. US primarily works with Pakistan’s Military and a large brand of opportunist Politicians. Though she has direct links with the civil bureaucracy specially in the foreign office. The highest rank in the foreign office after the minister himself is the secretary of Foreign Affairs, and it would be interesting for you to know that his wife is an American who is an employee in the American State Department. Americans used to remote control Pakistan through the politicians, military and bureaucracy in the past but now she has started to micro manage things. This is why that US has opened up more than 40 FBI offices at secret locations. Under secretary of State John Negroponte is meeting tribal heads himself and even City Nazims (Mayors). He is meeting police chiefs etc. This shows that US feels that things cannot be remotely controlled in Pakistan and hence they have to be out in the field to be able to manage Pakistan. The more they are visible and active on the ground the more public resentment is seen. The media has been very critical of their meetings with all the politicians when they were trying to forge a broad-based coalition.
Through these elements US controls Pakistan’s external, internal, educational and social landscape. US uses these politicians to make laws that would protect US’s interests and even shape up Pakistani society as US wants.
Question: Brother…..If we look at the people of Pakistan we find that they are living isolated from other societies outside their country…..How are you trying to ask them to establish Khilafah which has the duty of carrying Islam to the whole world while they have this feature?
Answer: Brother I would beg to differ with you. I have lived a part of my life in the West and I have found that people from Pakistan and even India had a great contribution in the Muslim communities there. All major Muslim organizations had very active members from Pakistan. Examples of UK and US are very clear where Muslim of Pakistan had been very active in community work. It is another issue that most of the time their understanding of Islam is not as profound as an Arab Muslim due to lack of Arabic language. I must also concede that I do not know their behaviour in the Gulf countries one reason again would be the language barrier and probably because of this you might have felt that they want to seclude themselves.
As far as the issue of taking Islam to the whole world is concerned it is the right understanding of Islam that motivates you to mobilize and sacrifice of Islam. If we see those areas that came to Islam during the first century Hijrah they became da’is (carriers of da’wa) very quickly because they understood their responsibility. I believe that once the Khilafah is established the people of Pakistan who love Islam and have already give sacrifices in the Jihad in Afghanistan and Kashmir will be willing to take on this responsibility and carry this to the whole world.
Question: Changing the ruling in Pakistan between Dictatorship and democracy…..Does this change in the systems and policies in Pakistan?
Answer: No not at all. In Pakistan the Military is controlled by America and even if for some reason British backed politician do take office they are curtailed or even removed from office through the military establishment. Therefore there is no question of changing any policies let alone the whole system.
Question: Is there a relationship between Pakistan politics and the West especially the US? What is the role of the US in protecting its interest in Pakistan if there is any?
Answer: Most definitely, US is running the show here in Pakistan. Every month there are at least two to three high ranking officials who meet with the rulers. Even just this month two under secretaries and a delegation of US congress are expected to visit Pakistan. This is the extent of US’s micro-management of Pakistan.
Question: How strong is the chaos/fighting in the tribal areas? What are the reasons? How does it affect Pakistan and the area in general? How Islamically can we solve it?
Answer: The reasons of fighting in the tribal belt is that the Pakistani Army is fighting the tribals so that they could not cross into Afghanistan and fight the US forces. The chaos there gets bigger when Pakistan Army starts a military operation. These days there are troops presence in the region but no active operation is in place hence the casualties are low. The Islamic way to solve this problem is that the army should lead the Jihad against the US occupying forces and the tribals will help them as they did during the Afghan Jihad.
Question: How wide is the work of the Hizb ut-Tahrir? Can we say that the Hizb ut-Tahrir is working in all provinces of Pakistan?
Answer: Hizb ut-Tahrir is growing every day Alhamdulillah. We operate in three out of four provinces. Hizb ut-Tahrir has no presence in Balochistan province which though geographically the largest province but population wise it is the smallest province of Pakistan. Mainly we operate in the big cities of these provinces. As per Sindh we work in the largest city of the Province, Karachi, which is Pakistan’s economic backbone as well.
Question: Just to learn from your experience……How did Hizb ut-Tahrir start the work in Pakistan with some details in how you approached people in general and the people of power?
Answer: Akhi again it is a very lengthy question but I would try to answer it briefly. Hizb ut-Tahrir had presence in the form of members since the eighties or even before. The public work started when we launched in December 2000. Since then our approach has been to build public awareness and opinion for Khilafah. We work amongst the students, lawyers, Ulemah, influentials, as well as average citizens. The style which we have so far adopted are leaflet distribution, letter writings, articles, demos, rallies, stickering, postering, banners, press conferences, seminars, lectures, Bayanat outside masajids, SMS campaigns, emails, sending material through post etc. We approach people from two angles one the angle of Aqeedah i.e. that it is Fard on Muslims to establish the Khilafah and hence it is fard on every Muslim to be a part of this struggle. Secondly we also approach people from political and rational approach and show them that it is the Khilafah and the implementation of Islam which will solve Ummah’s problems and issues. We also discuss with them the need of unification and role of Khilafah in achieving this goal.
Question: Can you please clarify what does the Hizb ut-Tahrir mean by countries in the Majal and others are not. What is the difference in activities between the countries in the range and the countries which are not. Is Pakistan in the Majal?
Answer: When Hizb ut-Tahrir talks about Majal it means that all those countries which fulfill the necessary conditions to be able to establish Khilafah there. Hence those countries which cannot be Majal Hizb ut-Tahrir limits its work to culturing the Ummah so that they are ready to join the Khilafah once it is establish. Hizb ut-Tahrir may not chose to do political struggle and it dose not seeking Nusra from the people of power there. Where as in countries which the party has defined as Majal Hizb ut-Tahrir does all the activities laid down in the books and leaflets of Hizb ut-Tahrir which could enventually establish Khilafah there.
Question by Abu Allail from Palestine: What is the nature and the qualities of the Pakistani society from the point of view the ideas, concepts, scales, believes it has. Is it Islamic? Is it one society or several?
Answer: The Pakistani society is an “Ajami” (non-Arabic) society with very strong Islamic emotions. As they do not understand Arabic, they have to rely on the “Moulvies” (Clerics) to know anything about Islam or at the maximum rely on the translations. Hence many cannot sense and even judge between various erroneous interpretations, which may not be even an Islamic opinon. There is a sizeable cross-section of the society that is confused due to weak interpretations of Islam, some of which do not even have a semblance of daleel. Hence though the society still has Islamic traditions, traits and emotions to a certain extent but they are weak in concepts. But surprisingly they still take Islam as the scale and criteria as much as they know it. So much so that even the government has to twist and turn the Ayat and Ahadith to implement their kufr policies such as the recently promulgated “Women’s Protection Bill”. Similarly before joining the US war on Afghanistan, Musharraf justified his decision by twisting the incidents of “Sulh Hudaibiyah”.
People here in Pakistan do consider Islam to be an ideology and they do not believe in the separation of Deen from Duniya. But unfortunately most of them do not know the details as to how Islam is an ideology. All in all you cannot consider Pakistani society to be an Islamic society, though emotionally and even consciously there is a overwhelming desire to be an Islamic society. Once the Khilafah is established it will not take long before the wrong concepts are corrected and from them emanate the right and pure emotions and the society is rendered as a truly Islamic society inshallah.
Question by Mr. Nabeel from Egypt: How much have the ideas of Hizb ut-Tahrir and the correct Islamic ideas has been spread out amongst Muslims in Pakistan, and do you see that these ideas have been converted to be concepts, scales, and believes for the society there?
Answer: Alhamdulillah, day by day our ideas are gaining strength in the masses. The word Khilafah is no longer a strange thing. The idea of one Ummah and a state which spans from east to west is a cherished idea in the masses. Islam is seen to be the scale for judging Husan and Qubh. People here are very political and know that this system cannot deliever this is why this time around the voting turn-out was the lowest in the history of Pakistan though the government figures doesn’t reflect this. People are ready for a comprehensive change in the system so much so that even the democratic parties who are working to maintain the status-co have come up with the slogans of changing the system and even referring to divine texts.
Question by Abu Muhammad from Gaza: How much the tribal concepts are leading the Pakistani people? Does the Musharraf regime utilize the tool of tribal – ethnic differences to mislead the public opinion and guide it to a specific direction? I read an article about the 5 districts of Pakistan, their languages ?
Answer: In Pakistan the tribal and ethnic divide is almost non-existent. Though through the operation in the Pakhtoon belt the government intends to fuel this ethnic divide but the people know this fairly well that this war waged purely by Musharraf and his master US and they are not buying that this conflict has any ethnic colour. On the other hand there has been some ethnic resentment in the Balochistan province due to age-old deprivation. It has risen again after government’s assassination of Baloch Tribal leader, Sardar Akbar Khan Bugtti. Generally people are clear that it is not that one ethnic group is subjugating the other rather it is conflict between a class which is subservient to the colonialists and the ordinary people of all the provinces.
Question: Do you see the talks about the Nuclear weapons in Pakistan lately and the fear it could fall into “non faithful” hands, is it a way to direct the public opinion to accept the control of the US over it? Or it is a way that Musharraf is trying to raise his shares in the street?
Answer: This is a rhetoric which the US government uses to build public opinion that Pakistan is an irresponsible nuclear state which is a threat to the peace and stability of the whole world. In fact nuclear bombs cannot be smuggled without the consent and help of the army and the state.
Question: What is the influence that Hizb ut-Tahrir has over the Muslims in Pakistan and on the other political parties?
Answer: In our past seven years Hizb ut-Tahrir has been able to make its political space and recognition in the society. The government sensed our quick growth and that’s why they were forced to ban us just within three years of our launch, exactly after three days of a large conference which we organized in Lahore. Hizb ut-Tahrir’s effect on the political medium could be gauged from the fact that Musharraf has come on national TV and asked the UK government to ban us in UK. In his numerous press conferences and speeches Musharraf has called upon the police and security agencies to stop the distribution of leaflets outside mosques which he calls “hate literature”. Nobody distributes literature except Hizb ut-Tahrir. Just recently to rebut our campaign against voting in democratic system, the state-run TV aired a programme with famous Ulema defending voting in this system form a sharaii perspective. Similarly one of the leaders of a leading Islamic party wrote an article to justify why voting in this system is Halal and this article was carried by major newspapers of the country. Having said that allot needs to be done to improve and increase our effect and pressure on the government as well as other political parties.
Question: Don’t you see that the issues in Pakistan are so much and fast, in the way that the voice of Hizb ut-Tahrir could not have the power to influence the public opinion?
Answer: Alhamdulillah, with right strategy, clear thought, high activity of its shabab and with sheer grace and help of Allah (SWT), Hizb ut-Tahrir has been able to influence the political medium and the Ummah much much more than its size. And as time goes by it is only going to grow inshallah.
Question: Do you see that the issue of Wazeerstan is enlarged? So that there is a hidden agenda behind, more that the Wazeerstan and the terrorism as they are saying?
Answer: Yes, the Wazeeristan issue is not about stopping the Mujahideen crossing over to Afghanistan rather the US and Musharraf wants to destabilize the whole FATA region who’s fallout will in-turn destabilize the whole of Pakistan. This is why we see that every operation in the Pakhtoon area is an unfinished and hotchpotch operation at the end of which they neither completely crush the opposition nor the writ of the state is completely restored. The Pakistan army is getting stuck in more and more areas, ready to be an easy target for suicide and road-side bomb blasts. As a result at the end of each military operation hatred against the government and the army increases and more and more Pakhtoons are being annoyed.
Question: Some reports links some fighters in Afghanistan with Pakistan, is it true?
Answer: The border between Afghanistan and Paksitan is known as Durand Line. This line was drawn on the map by the British in 1839. This line consists of high mountains and valleys and it is very rugged terrain stretching 2450-kilometer (1519 miles). Pakhtoon tribes live on both sides this boarder and the inhabitants have relationships on both sides. For decades it has been a porous boarder with people easily moving to-and-fro. Keeping this reality in mind it is not difficult or surprising that Muslims from Pakistan may be fighting in Afghanistan.
Question by Abu Abdullah from Ukraine: Who is the movement of implementing the Shariaa? We see interviews with the media with its members? Is there a difference between Taliban of Pakistan and of Afghanistan How much the idea of Khilafah has been spread amongst the Muslims of Pakistan?
Answer: I think you mean “Tahreeq-e-Nifaz-e-Shariyat-e-Muhamadi” (TNSM) which was headed by Moulana Sufi Muhammad. This is a group in Swat who are calling for the implementation of Shariah. The government recently did a bloody operation against them in Swat. Their leader, Sufi Muhammad, has been in jail since the US attack on Afghanistan after 9/11. This movement is now headed by his Son-in-Law Moulana Fazlullah. These people also call for Khilafah.
The world Taliban is nowadays used in a very lose way. As there is allot of chaos specially in the tribal belt and Afghanistan that it is very difficult to say that if this group has any organized link with the original Taliban of Mullah Umar who ran Afghanistan.
The idea of Khilafah is al-Hamdulillah spreading very fast. To an extent that the media talk-shows are now discussing Khilafah and the government scholars have started to attack this idea of Khilafah. Just recently on of the Ulama-e-Slateen commented about Khilafah and said that it was a tribal system as if to mean that it has nothing to do with Islam rather that system was for that time and place. People are dissatisfied with the system to an extent that this time around it was the lowest turn out though the government is trying to show higher numbers but the fact is that an overwhelming majority of people didn’t even leave home to cast their votes. They have also shown their desire for the implementation of Islam. However they are still not very clear as to what actually Islamic system or Khilafah entails. There is a significant number who still see democracy synonymous with election and consider it to be compatible with Islam. Generally apart for the secular elite the idea of Khilafah and unification is very easily accepted by the masses here in Pakistan.
Question by Ghareeb Dar Islam from Yemen: We noticed that the reactions of the Pakistani people is not at the level of the actions of the dictator Musharraf? Although the Islamic emotions are so high?
Answer: This is a very interesting and correct observation. Actually right now there is a huge leadership vacuum as all the existing democratic parties – secular or Islamic – have been exposed and people have lost trust in them. As a result people are not willing to come out in the street under the leadership of any of these parties especially when they know that there will be sticks, tear gas and imprisonment waiting for them. As per Hizb ut-Tahrir, the government has put a ban on our activities to stop us from openly rallying people. We still do public activity but without announcing it in advance. As a result not a lot of people can participate in these spontaneous demos and rallies. InshAllah it is just a matter of time when we will grow big enough to defy the ban and force our way out and lead the public emotions which are surely and purely for Islam.
Question by Byaseen from Pakistan: You are always asking the generals, and the army people to move, and especially this month you urged them to act, but actually what they are doing is the opposite, where do you see a good in them? Why you keep asking them to act?
Answer: Brother, the army in Pakistan is not as secular as it is in Syria or Turkey. They were groomed for the past three decades to fight Jihad in Afghanistan and in Kashmir. Their official motto is still “Jihad fi Sabil lillah”. Even Musharraf had to forcibly retire two top Generals (General Usmani and General Mehmood) before allowing US to invade Afghanistan using Pakistani air space. Even now there have been instances that over 200 army personal including officers, surrender to the tribals without firing a single bullet. There are reports that within the army there are very strong resentment against Musharraf and the operations being conducted in the FATA (Federally Administrated Tribal Areas). Hence thinking that there is no good in the army is a big mistake. Furthermore, even if the Pakistan army had actually been secular we still would have continued to call them and mobilize them to bring about a radical change. It is because we are emulating the method of Prophet Muhammad (saaw) in establishing the Khilafah. It is very clear from the seerah of the Prophet (saaw) that he asked Nusra (help and protection) from Ahel An-Nusra so that he (saaw) could establish an Islamic State and implement Islam internally and convey the call of Islam externally. And it took the Messenger years before Allah introduced him to al-Ansar of Madina and it was due to their Nusrah that the messenger was able to establish the first Islamic State.
Question by Akef from Syria: What is the ideas that lead the major generals of the Pakistani Army, is there amongst them some who has an Islamic leadership? Or they are secular? And loyal to the system?
Answer: As I have just discussed in the previous question that predominantly Pakistani army is not secular. But this is also a fact that through the “promotion” process the America and its agents try to bring those officers up the ladder who are less Islamic or to a certain extent secular or pragmatic. Most of the generals like democracy and they are trained to think within the box and the existing paradigm. They are also cultured during their professional carriers that if we implement Islam we would be cut off from the world and would not be able to survive. There are irrational overestimations of America’s strength. There are underestimations of how strong the Ummah would be as a single state. They still do not see as to how Islam could actually be implemented and how can it can solve problems of the 21st century. One reason for this lack of confidence in Islam is the age old role of the Islamic political parties who failed to present Islam as a viable and workable option. Rather they also supported democracy, wrongly believing it to be from Islam, and convinced the Ummah that Islam alone cannot give a complete solution rather it needs democracy and the law making of the people to cater to the needs of this age and time.
Question by Abu Abdul Raheem from As-Sham: What rule has the pakistany media on the public opinion , how much we can utilize it to help Dawah activities?
Answer: Lately Pakistani media has seen a tremendous boom. There are more than 15 satellite news channels and many more to be open in the near future. These channels are very popular more than the entertainment and music channels. Due to the very political and conservative nature of the Pakistani society the highest viewer ship is for political and current affairs programmes. This media boom has changed the way politics is being done here in Pakistan. The politicians are very unpopular and they cannot pull crowds hence they convey their ideas either through their media statements or interviews and talk-shows in these satellite news channels. As per how the Hizb ut-Tahrir can use these channels it is not very easy. Since the government banned us there is a very strict restriction on the media to interview us or even relay our press statements. The channels who dared to do that came under a lot of pressure from the secrete services. Though our Deputy Spokesman has recently appeared in to current affairs programme, they didn’t introduced him with his official designation. As far as the print media is concern time to time we do get some coverage. But even they are scared to consistently cover us. Although our articles do get printed in few newspapers which are on various issues. In summary Pakistani media has significant impact on the public opinion but unfortunately the government is not allowing the media at all to cover us.
Question by Abu al Mutasim from Alquds: You mentioned the influence of the public opinion in Pakistan, on the policy making in the country. My question is about the influence that the ideas of Hizb ut-Tahrir on the public opinion in Pakistan, especially on those who can affect the policy making decisions, and the army leaders, and the political parties (not only the Islamic). According to your evaluation, do we have enough signs to say that the first signs of having Khilafah in Pakistan; talking about the public opinion and the public awareness, on the Islamic Idea especially the importance of having Khilafah system, and for the trust on the leadership of Hizb ut-Tahrir to the Ummah?
Answer: Hizb ut-Tahrir’s effect on the political medium could be gauged from the fact that Musharraf has come on national TV and asked the UK government to ban Hizb ut-Tahrir in UK. Musharraf has made numerous calls to stop people from distributing “hate” literature outside mosques. Nobody distributes literature except Hizb ut-Tahrir. Another thing you must keep in mind that Hizb ut-Tahrir has been active for just few years (seven) out of which the government banned us after three years since we had a large conference in Lahore, the cultural and political capital of Pakistan. Having said that we still need to improve and increase our effect to pressurize the government to change its policies. As far as the public opinion in Pakistan for Khilafah is concerned, A survey supported by the US Department of Homeland Security and conducted by the University of Maryland between December 2006 and February 2007, revealed that the majority of Muslims held a goal “to unify all Islamic countries into a single Islamic state or Caliphate (Khilafah).” Over here people love Islam and the secular lot is a fringe group. However, there is still some confusion about the difference between Democracy and Khilafah. Hence this is the area that we are working on heavily, these days. The government here in Pakistan doesn’t use brute force against everybody. It tries to use the Islamic groups as long as they are willing to join the system. The government also allows these Islamic groups to use some of the Islamic rhetoric as long as this not damaging to the system itself. People see these Islamic groups with a lot of skepticism. Hence they usually do not effect our support base as people are in general are clear that there is not much difference between them and other democratic parties.
Question by Nasir Al-Masaeed: Brother Naveed, Could you please brief us about the current situation in Pakistan especially the issues before the assassination of Bhutto. And how much is the acceptance of the idea of Al-Khilafah in Pakistan?
Answer: The situation here in Pakistan after the assassination of Bhutto has been further deteriorated through three other crises, wheat crisis, electricity crisis and gas crisis. It seems that the colonialists and their agents are trying their best to push Pakistan into chaos to weaken it and in the process try to gain more control or destroy our nuclear assets. As per your second question, the people of Pakistan are fed up with the current political parties whom they have tried and tested for the past sixty years. The people are dissatisfied from the current system and are already demanding a change in the system. They have also shown their desire for the implementation of Islam. However they are still not very clear as to what actually Islamic system or Khilafah entails. There is a significant number who still see democracy synonymous with election and consider it to be compatible with Islam. Generally apart for the secular elite the idea of Khilafah and unification is very easily accepted by the masses. Though there are usually questions from the Ummah as to how this objective be achieved but there is hardly a dispute whether we should go for Khilafah or not.
Question by AbdulRahman: Do you believe in a change in Pakistan, especially with the certainty that US controls Pakistan? Look at the trials of EU and its struggle over Pakistan, they failed to gain. What is your position comparing to these big players, we know that barely we can see Hizb ut-Tahrir in the scene?
Answer: Pakistan is ripe for the establishment of the Khilafah, as we have mentioned. EU can never bring change as what they are calling for collides with the aqeedah of the Muslims. This is also why America has grown weaker in its standing throughout the Muslim world. The time is now for the people of power to respond to the strong and growing public opinion for Khilafah. The only thing left is for us to persuade the people of power through mobilizing the Muslims in their demand for Khilafah.
Question by Jalal from UK: May Allah reward you and your brothers there. I would like to ask you about the Islamic groups there. In your latest press statement you mentioned that these groups are not doing the right actions. What do you advise them to do – step by step? Do you think they will be responsive to these demands or have they been taken over by the system?
Answer: First of all the Islamic parties must separate themselves from the current system and openly denounce democracy by declaring it a kufr system. They should call upon the government to implement Islam by establishing the Khilafah. Furthermore they should mobilize the masses for the cause of implementation of Islam by establishing the Khilafah. And also they should use their influence in the people of power and push them to provide nusra and support for the implementation of Islam. As for as being responsive is concerned it is in the knowledge of Allah (swt). Since our work here in Pakistan there has been at least two new parties, who have joined this struggle of establishing the Khilafah. Whereas Dr. Israr Ahmed had accepted this call long ago and their party is already calling for Khilafah.
Question by Abu Bahr from As-Sham: Is it right that US is having a full control over the nuclear weapons of Pakistan?
Answer: Brother, I don’t think that they have a physical control over all the nuclear war heads. This could be seen from the anxiety regarding Pakistan’s nuclear plans. Though they might be monitoring closely and using the Pak army to control it. They have definitely been able to slow down or even stop (according to some reports) the process of enrichment of uranium which is necessary to build more nuclear war heads. The most important thing for them is not to just control the existing nuclear war heads rather destroy the capability and nuclear infrastructure which Pakistan currently has. This is why this atmosphere of chaos in the country is absolutely important for them, which they can use to attack our nuclear facilities and blame it on the “extremist” or those engaged in Jihad.
Question by Khaled from The West: Dear Brother, a Lion, and Mujahid Naveed: About your announcement of calling Pakistanis for Jihad against the US if it will attack Wazeerstan, the proxy of the enemies are really fighting there on behalf of the US, and they are financed from US, do we wait to fight America until it will attack?
Answer: Our call for the Muslim armies to moblize and drive out the colonialist armies from the region is general. We are not calling Pak army to mobilize only if they attack Waziristan. We believe there is no difference between Kabul and Lahore, both are Muslim lands and they must be protected from the Kafir colonialist armies.
Question by Assyasy from Alquds: A great amount of the army and intelligence employees show support or empathy with the Mujahedeen and mislead the government with misleading data about there movements, although most the leaders are from the Arab origin and easily can be tracked. That means this weakens Musharraf in front of US. Are there any signs that US will replace Musharraf and appoint Kayani in his place?
Answer: Pakistan army and its secret services were trained and developed on the motto of “Jihad fi Sabil lillah”. And their only foe was India. They were heavily involved in Afghan Jihad (during Soviet era) and then Jihad-e-Kashmir for about 2-3 decades. Musharraf tried to change their focus from Eastern borders to the western front against its own people. Hence there are still people amongst the secrete services and army officers who are not entirely comfortable with the course Pakistan is taking in fighting “war against Terrorism”. Hence it is not like Uzbekistan where Karimov would find a lot of people who hate Islam and are willing to be his eyes and limbs to fight Islam. There had been incidents when 200-300 army personals surrendered as a whole, without firing a bullet. There is definitely a very strong faction developing within the army who does not support Musharraf. As per Kiyani replacing Musharraf, this currently seams unlikely. Rather Kiyani has shown his subservience to Musharraf and has strengthened him.
Question by Humam Ghanayem from Palestine Regarding the tribal issue: 1) What are the reasons? 2) What is its relation with the western colonialism in the neighboring Afghanistan? 3) Taliban of Pakistan, is it same movement as Afghan Taliban or separate movement? 4) What is the Sharii Hukm of the tribal struggle? 5) What is the practical way to finish it?
Answer: 1) There was no tribal problem pre 9-11. It was only created by the US to weaken Pakistan internally. 2) Obviously by engaging tribal Muslims within Pakistan would stop them from fighting the US armies in the Afghanistan. 3) The Pakistani Taliban is not a coherent organization rather it is only a label to the resistance. 4) There is great reward for the Muslims of the tribal areas in fighting the crusader occupiers. However, it does not remove the obligation from the Muslim soldiers who have the capability to fulfill the fard kifiyah of removing the occupation, but are chained by the current regime. Moreover, they are unleashed only to fight their own brothers. 5) The practical way to fight this occupation is to eradicate the current regime in Pakistan and establish the Khilafah, which will not only cut the flow of arms, petrol and food supplies to the crusader US armies but also mobilize its troops to liberate the area from foreign occupation.
Question: What do you say about the meeting between Musharraf and Barak in London was it planned or is it for the normalizing of the relations with Israel?
Answer: As far as the meeting of Musharraf and Barak is concerned definitely, it was planned and it is geared towards slowly desensitizing the Paksitani public opinion, which is highly against Israel. Paksitani officials has made statements in the past that why should be not talk with Israel, whilst we talk with the Indians with whom we have fought three wars.
Question: What is the future of Pakistan in the shades of the hate of the people to Musharraf?
Answer: Pakistan is very rapidly moving towards change. People have no hope from the old political leaderships and the low expected turn-out in the upcoming elections would be another proof of this disenchantment. The whole society is looking for a new leadership which is a perfect scenario for any political movement offering a radical change in the society. We are very hopeful that from the ashes of this system inshallah the spark of Khilafah will arise in a very short span of time.
Question: What is your advise to the Muslims outside Pakistan toward there rulers.
Answer: The Muslims outside Pakistan should continue to say the “Kalima of Haqq” at various forums. They should try to expose the tyranny of these Muslim rulers to the whole world. Also they should expose the covert and overt support of the colonialists to these dictators and despots so that the public opinion of the whole world move against this nexus. Muslims should account the politicians and influential people who go to foreign trips about their obligation to implement Islam.
